NRoSO
Crop Management Partners have recently delivered the National Register of Sprayer Operator (NRoSO) annual training course to sprayer operators.
A total of seven course were delivered across Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, and Kent with training delivered to close to 200 attendees.
The annual training event, titled Keeping Safe, Legal & Productive, updated sprayer operators on a range of topics affecting the industry as a reminder on the importance of water protection when using plant protection products.
Attendees were awarded 10 NRoSO points and 8 BASIS points for attending as well as the opportunity to learn and discuss best practice with trainers and other course attendees.
Winter Meetings
In addition to the NRoSO courses, Crop Management Partners held two winter meetings for clients. Both meetings were titled Managing Risk in Arable Farming and focussed on how the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) can be incorporated into the arable farming business.
As well as discussions around SFI, clients listened to presentations from Savills on alternative income opportunities as well as talks from Crop Management Partner agronomists on managing the risks posed by slugs, BYDV and cabbage stem flea beetle.
Attendees to the Hampshire meeting received a cereal, oilseeds and pulses market update from Nick Matthews of Robin Appel Ltd, whilst attendees to the Kent meeting listened to a presentation on dealing with risk from Richard Budd, Stevens Farm. Crop Management Partners would like to thank all the speakers at both winter meetings.
